Good morning! I wake up at 8am with the worst flu ever. My nose is stuffy and head feels like balloon. It’s a sunny winter Friday out there. Luckily it is also my day off from work. I wonder what would happen if I drink all the Rx blends in one day. Will there be a cumulative health benefit. I’ll try anything to get rid of my flu before my date tomorrow.

The battle plan is that I drink a cup of tea every two hours. That is a total of seven cups of tea a day. The order ranges from stimulating blends in the morning, immunity boosting in the day, mood boosting in the evening, and relaxing at night. The exact order is Rainforest Energy, Study Time, Flu Shot, Herbal Oasis, Blue Lotus, Mint Bliss, Zzz Time.

10AM Rainforest Energy: Guayusa, Green mate, Maca. The first blend of the day is my idea of an energy drink. Guayusa has the caffeine content between black tea and coffee. What makes it especially good in the morning is it’s antioxidant powers. It has twice the amount of antioxidants of green tea and plenty of vitamin C. Mate is a similar to Guayusa in that it stimulates without causing a crash like coffee. It is rich in vitamin B and minerals. Just the pick me up I need after a sleepless night. Maca finishes off the blend with its balancing properties like improving hormones, and thus your mood and energy.

Half a cup in I feel myself waking up. My eyes clear up and I smile with confidence looking forward to the sunny day. I added sugar into the first cup, but normally I recommend avoiding all sugar, because of its oxidizing and insulin raising properties. It’s time for breakfast. Then I am going to reward myself with some episodes of Elementary.

12PM Study Time: Guayusa, Peppermint, Ginkgo, Bacopa, Bilberry. Now it’s afternoon so it’s time to be most productive. The Guayusa keeps me properly caffeinated. Gingko and Bacopa are both mind and memory boosting herbs that synergize to prepare you for studying. The smell of peppermint has been shown to increase your concentration. And Bilberry is one of the best natural vision enhancements. I will need this blend, because it’s time to do homework.

After 10 minutes sipping the second cup of tea I notice my eyesight almost double. The only way I can describe it is like putting on prescription eye glasses. I can pick out details in what I am studying quiet well and make connections easily. My typing speed has also increased exponentially.

2PM Flu Shot: Ginger, Lemon Peel, Honey Crystals, Whole Lemon Powder, Cayenne Pepper. Fresh ginger and lemon are my secret ingredients for getting over a cold. Add honey to that and you have an elixir you can drink all day to feel better. This blend is the next best thing and cayenne is great for getting rid of sore throat. All the ingredients work together to give you energy, boost your immunity and detoxify your body.

The third cup of tea is not for the light hearted. It is closer to medicine than tea. But don’t worry your body will thank you for this spicy concoction. And it goes perfectly with my lunch of Chicken with Garlic Sauce. Between ginger and garlic the flu has no chance. I feel fired up to work out. It’s generally not a good idea to lift weights when sick, so I am going to do an hour of Yoga.

4pm Herbal Oasis: Lemon Thyme, Linden Flower, Tulsi, Echinacea, Elderberry. This time of the day is when you need the most immunity support. Lemon thyme has a wonderful smell and helps relieve muscles after a long work out. Linden flower reduces fever and relaxes you further. While Tulsi, also known as Holy Basil, Echinacea and Elderberry are natures’ best immunity boosters. Not only is this tea blend one of the best tasting, it’s also jam-packed with health benefits.

This is a great after work tea. It preps your body for the evening and over all balances out any aches or pains. After a long day I am relaxing and slowly sipping Herbal Oasis. The smell alone makes this blend irreplaceable in our lineup. I feel content after finishing most of the fourth cup of tea.

6pm Blue Lotus: Tulsi, Lemongrass, Rose Hips, Pau d’Arco, Rhodiola. This the best tea blend if you want to meditate or reflect deeply on something. Tulsi has many other properties like promoting mental clarity, a sense of well-being and relieving stress. Rose Hips fortify you further with vitamin C and antioxidants. Lemongrass and Pau d’Arco both have cancer fighting powers. While Rhodiola eases anxiety and depression. Put all of these awesome ingredients together and this blend can stand up to the previous one in the health benefits department.

This time I take my fifth cup of tea with me for a nice long bath. After the first taste I can feel my mood improving. The ingredients still boost immunity, but now as the day progresses your overall feeling is more important. After drinking more of this blend I feel happy and optimistic. This detox day is not only for the body, it is also for the mind.

8pm Mint Bliss: Spearmint, Peppermint, Lemon Verbana, Lemon Balm, Lemongrass, St. Johns Wort. Mint is one of my favorite tisanes, because it smells so nice. It can also alleviate headaches and a good source of vitamins and minerals. Lemon Verbena and Balm are both excellent for relaxing the nervous system and helping with digestion. St. Johns Wort is the star of the blend and acts like a natural antidepressant.

This is the right tea blend to have after dinner. Inhale the minty lemony aroma and let all your worries disappear. I drank the whole sixth cup straight down. It was so refreshing and a perfect way to finish any meal. Now I am feeling giddy. Time to start watching Sherlock before bedtime. And yes Sherlock Holmes is an important part of the detox process.

10pm Zzz Time: Chamomile, Lemon Balm, Linden, Lavender, Valerian. These ingredients are all selected to help you sleep better. Chamomile is great for relieving anxiety, Lemon Balm for stress, Linden for anxiety, Lavender for muscle tension, and finally Valerian for insomnia. Combined the effect is that you fall asleep like a baby.

This is the 7th and final cup of the detox day. I decided to treat myself and add honey. A little sugar is great before sleep to calm your mind. There is nothing like the scent of Lavender for aromatherapy. Almost all my flu symptoms are gone. This has been a splendid day and I as I drink my tea I am slowly drifting away to sleep. Good night!
